ADM plays a key role in Mexico’s agricultural industry. Through ADM owned or joint venture assets, we conduct business in the food, feed and industrial sectors. We have more than 260 employees throughout Mexico.
ADM’s Grain group, headquartered in Mexico City, serves as a primary market for local grain farmers by purchasing white corn, durum wheat and sorghum. We also import and distribute corn, wheat, soybeans, sorghum, rice, edible beans and grain by-products such as corn gluten meal, corn feed pellets and dried distillers grain.
ADM’s Oilseed Processing group operates a soybean processing plant located in Gomez Palacio, Durango. At this facility, soybean meal, soybean hulls and degummed soybean oil are sold domestically. Through this facility and other merchandising offices in Mexico City and Ciudad Obregon, ADM imports soybean meal, soybean hull pellets, canola meal, cottonseed meal and sunflower meal pellets.
ADM’s Oils group markets a variety of domestically produced and imported oils. Our portfolio of oils includes canola, corn, cottonseed, linseed, palm, peanut, soybean and sunflower. We offer these oils in crude form, partially refined, fully refined, or as blends to customers in the food, feed and industrial markets.
ADM’s Specialty Products group offers a variety of products to Mexico’s food, feed, industrial and pharmaceutical markets. Our products include lysine, threonine, citric acids, sorbitol, lecithin, functional and textured soya proteins, refried beans, maltodextrin, xanthan gums and soluble dietary fiber.
With Tate & Lyle, ADM owns a joint-venture corn processing plant in Guadalajara, Jalisco. We also have a joint venture with Vimifos, a premier manufacturer of animal feed premixes and full feeds.
By combining the efforts of our various business groups and joint ventures, ADM has established a network of outlets throughout the country. Our integrated business allows us to provide products to customers through the most efficient means possible, whether truck, railcar or vessel. Our strategically located network of warehouses and port facilities allows ADM to adapt to changing market conditions.
In Mexico, we pride ourselves on being involved in our communities. We support the municipality of Gomez Palacio each year during a cleanup campaign. In Obregon, we support development of at-risk rural communities.
